Leonardo Notte is the most coveted spin doctor in the Italian advertising world. Marcello Dell’Utri calls him to revive Publitalia but he has more ambitious projects; Luca Pastore is a policeman on his first day at the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office: he participates in the arrest of Mario Chiesa with the team of Antonio Di Pietro, but his secret goal is a personal revenge. On his way he meets Bibi Mainaghi, a rich and lost girl who becomes essential to his private investigation.

Mario Chiesa confesses and shakes the entire Milanese political and entrepreneurial system. Thanks to his revelations, Luca finally reaches the enemy he has been pursuing for years: will the pressure hold up? Bibi discovers his true motivations and everything risks being lost. Leo is passionate about the task entrusted to him by Dell'Utri. Pietro accepts the challenge of politics but must get involved and hold a meeting. Veronica's career is one step away from her big break.

Luca got what he wanted: finally, Michele Mainaghi is in jail. But he discovers that the truly powerful people do not pay and that no amount of revenge can really do justice. Leo must face the threat of blackmail: someone has discovered the dark truth about his past. Pietro arrives in Parliament, but his euphoria does not last long: the party's orders stifle any possibility of personal initiative. Meanwhile, Veronica’s world has been shattered.

When Luca sees the revenge mission that has moved him so far, instead of feeling relieved, he feels lost. His revolutionary insights lead Leo to the clash with Dell’Utri. In order not to lose everything, he will be forced to sacrifice his ego. Pietro realizes his own inadequacy but the only person willing to teach him the secrets of politics, he is an elderly member of the most distant and hostile party to his party. An unexpected opportunity allows Veronica to pursue her dreams again.

Luca has to face his darkest and most threatening ghosts and this time risks giving up but Giulia Castello, a young motivated and ambitious journalist, pushes him to react: his mission will not be over until all the hidden accomplices of the crime of which he will be unmasked. he was a victim along with thousands of other innocents. Leo is grappling with his blackmailer while suffering from the lack of freedom he is left with at work

Luca secretly supports Bibi in the project of a clean Mainaghi holding, finally free from the mistakes of the past. But she will find herself facing a truth that paralyzes her: she is not free to build her own future and is forced to betray Luca. Leo decides to risk everything to assert his vision, disobeys Marcello Dell’Utri and finds a way to address Silvio Berlusconi directly; Veronica is in a relationship in which it seems impossible to find the balance between love and compromise.

Luca breaks every rule in order to pursue his own investigation, without knowing that Bibi has completely accepted the obscure complicity that has been proposed to him and is ready to reveal for him a fearsome enemy. Leo believes he has finally freed himself from the shadows of his past and believes he can reap the fruit of his unscrupulousness. Pietro, without listening to the advice of his mentor, makes a mistake involving the army, which affects Veronica.

Luca arrives at the terrible hidden truths of the Mainaghi, but clashes with the impossibility of finding evidence to support his discoveries. Leo is forced to confront his daughter Viola's unexpected choices and ambitions just as the realization of his political dream appears ever closer. All his beliefs seem to be in crisis. Veronica and Pietro are finally one step away from happiness but while Pietro discovers the terrible price he will have to pay, Veronica confronts an unexpected pregnancy.

Luca's secret investigation is discovered and Luca is expelled from Di Pietro's team but decides not to give up and is ready to risk anything to set up Bibi. Leo is one step away from the success and the consecration he was waiting for, but the ghosts he hoped to have dissolved come back fierce to take it all away. Pietro is forced to deny himself in order not to lose Veronica, ready for any sacrifice for his own ambition.

Luca, thanks to a surprising intuition, is welcomed back by Di Pietro in his team. In exchange he gets to be able to officially question Bibi Mainaghi; Leo risks losing himself in anguish and guilt. Only an internal journey into himself and his past will give him the strength to carry on and open up a completely unimaginable future for him. Pietro definitively sacrifices his integrity and Veronica's love to save his place in Parliament. Veronica decides to immolate her happiness on the altar of her career.
